LiuGong strengthens its presence in the Araripe Gypsum Production Hub

Partnership between manufacturer, distributor, and mining companies drives high availability and regional growth

Responsible for approximately 97% of Brazil’s gypsum production, the Araripe Gypsum Production Hub, located in the hinterlands of Pernambuco state, is one of the most challenging operating environments in Brazilian mining. Intense dust, high temperatures, long operating hours, and continuous operations demand reliable equipment and high availability of technical support. In this context, LiuGong has strengthened its presence as a strategic partner to local mining companies and industries, with a growing fleet of wheel loaders, excavators, and off-highway trucks operating across different stages of the gypsum value chain.

According to the Araripe Gypsum Local Production Arrangement (APL), the region brings together approximately 510 companies, including 55 mining operations, 185 calcination plants, and around 270 precast manufacturers, with an estimated annual output of 4,44 million tons and the generation of 3.500 direct jobs. It is within this highly competitive environment that LiuGong equipment has been consistently demonstrating strong performance.

Fleet in Operation and Field Performance

At Siqueira Mineração, one of the largest groups in the hub, LiuGong’s fleet is extensive and strategically deployed, including 848T, 856H, 865HE, and 870H wheel loaders, as well as six 922E excavators and three DW90 off-highway trucks. Founded in 2011, the group operates across multiple markets—from cement to calcined gypsum, agricultural gypsum, limestone, and aggregates—and employs more than 400 people.

According to Chico Siqueira, Chief Executive Officer, the decision to standardize the fleet is directly driven by performance and after-sales support. “Selling machines is easy. The real challenge is keeping them running, and that is what Damaq has been delivering. Today, LiuGong ranks among the best machines we have ever operated within the group, and our outlook is to migrate the entire fleet to the brand,” he states.

The Padrão Gypsum Group, which encompasses mining operations, gypsum manufacturing, and new investments in agribusiness, also operates four 922E excavators and one 835H wheel loader. With more than 150 employees, the group highlights close technical support as a decisive factor. “What the industry needs today is ongoing Support. Not just the sale, but a strong after-sales presence, answering questions, ensuring parts availability, and providing technical assistance. That is what we have with Damaq Equipamentos and LiuGong,” says José Mário, Maintenance Manager.

MAB – Mineração Alto Bonito, one of Brazil’s gypsum industry pioneers, founded in 1973 and now in its third generation of family ownership, operates 856H and 835H wheel loaders as well as a 922E excavator. For Geraldo Lesse, Chief Executive Officer, equipment robustness and long-term relationships are key differentiators. “We have been operating LiuGong machines since 2012. They are robust equipment that serve us well, supported by a solid, long-standing relationship between customer and supplier. That makes all the difference,” he emphasizes.

Expansion, Equipment Availability, and Local Support

Vertgesso, a company linked to a national group operating in the ceramics and mineral drilling sectors, currently operates one 835H wheel loader and two 922E excavators, with plans to acquire additional equipment for a new mining front in Araripe. According to Leonardo Ferreira, the company’s mining engineer, physical availability and local technical support were decisive factors in selecting the manufacturer. “Today, we have very strong equipment availability and utilization. What was missing in the region was technical maintenance service, which is now in place. This is essential for the Gypsum Hub,” he states.

The local presence of Damaq Equipamentos, LiuGong’s distributor in the region, is cited by companies across the hub as a true game changer. “Araripe demands strong machines, but it demands even more proximity. We have invested in infrastructure, regional technicians, parts inventory, and continuous relationships. Our role is to ensure that the machines are producing every day, because here, downtime is not an option,” emphasizes Danilo Freire, CEO of the distributor.

From the manufacturer’s perspective, LiuGong’s consolidation in the hub is the result of a clear strategy. “The Araripe Gypsum Hub is one of the most demanding operating environments in the country. Seeing our equipment running with high availability across different customers confirms that we are on the right path. More than selling machines, we are building long-term partnerships, with a focus on productivity, operating costs, and close customer support,” states Hebert Francisco, Vice President of LiuGong Latin America.

        A Partnership Driving Regional Development

In a hub that concentrates Brazil’s largest gypsum reserves and operates with continuous mining and material handling cycles, operational efficiency depends directly on fleet reliability. In this context, the standardization of robust machines, combined with high physical availability and a well-structured regional after-sales operation, has made it possible to reduce unplanned downtime, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), and sustain consistent productivity gains.

According to Danilo Freire, CEO of Damaq Equipamentos, this dynamic requires more than high-performance equipment. “The Araripe Gypsum Hub demands strong machines, but it demands even stronger partnerships. This is not a market for one-off opportunities, but for day-to-day engagement. To operate here, it is not enough to sell equipment: it is necessary to understand the pace of mining operations, be present, anticipate demands, and ensure that the customer’s operation does not stop. Damaq has built its presence in the hub on this proximity, strong relationships, and a long-term vision. What has already been achieved is solid—and represents only the beginning of what we will continue to develop in the region,” he concludes.

As LiuGong’s distributor in Northeast Brazil, Damaq Equipamentos currently operates across six states in the region, with a structure focused on close customer relationships, technical availability, and continuous support. Despite its relatively recent trajectory, the company already ranks among the fastest-growing distributors of the brand in Brazil, contributing directly to the expansion of the LiuGong fleet in strategic segments such as mining, construction, agriculture, and infrastructure. LiuGong conducts ZF Basic Power transmission training at the LiuGong Training Center in Mogi Guaçu

The technical training brought together distributors from across Brazil in a 40-hour program focused on system maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.

Between November 24 and 28, 2025, LiuGong conducted the ZF Basic Power Transmission Training, bringing together LiuGong representatives from across Brazil. The program was delivered by LiuGong itself, based on the knowledge and technology developed through its joint venture with ZF in China, reinforcing the transfer of global expertise to enhance the technical qualification of the company’s after-sales network in the country. The training took place at the LiuGong Training Center in Mogi Guaçu (SP), with the objective of strengthening dealers’ technical capabilities across the brand’s product lineup.

With a total workload of 40 hours, the training was delivered by Diego Heitor Rodrigues, LiuGong Training Instructor, and combined theoretical and hands-on sessions, reinforcing the manufacturer’s commitment to the continuous qualification of technical teams and to high equipment availability in the field.

Throughout the program, participants deepened their knowledge of the powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems, in addition to specific content on transmission repair and preventive maintenance. The hands-on activities included the use of technical diagrams and the disassembly and reassembly of the transmission, providing a practical approach aligned with real workshop routines.

According to Diego Heitor Rodrigues, the training was structured to meet day-to-day operational demands. “We designed the content to qualify technicians in a practical and in-depth manner, covering everything from system operation to proper diagnostic procedures, preventive maintenance, and transmission repair. This directly helps prevent machine downtime and increases equipment reliability in the field,” he explains.

The initiative reinforces LiuGong’s strategy of continuously investing in the technical training of its network, strengthening after-sales support, and deepening partnerships with global suppliers, ensuring qualified support for distributors and greater productivity for customers across Brazil.

LiuGong strengthens its relationship with employees and the communitythrough cultural initiatives in Campinas

The company-sponsored program brought free activities to Mogi Guaçu and
Campinas and included a Family Day for employees and their families

With a commitment to expanding access to culture and fostering integration
among people, families, and public spaces, LiuGong concluded its participation
in the itinerant Parklet Móvel project with a series of activities that strengthened
the company’s connection with its employees and with the communities of Mogi
Guaçu and Campinas (SP). The installation was located at Parque Portugal
(Taquaral) from October 22 to November 4, welcoming visitors of all ages for
cultural workshops, educational activities, and artistic performances.
In addition to sponsoring the project, made possible through the Rouanet Law,
LiuGong dedicated part of the program to a special moment for its team: Family
Day, during which employees and their families took part in art workshops and
cultural experiences in a welcoming environment integrated with nature.
Family Day: culture as a meeting point
Family Day was designed to promote interaction, well-being, and stronger
bonds between families and the company, reinforcing the importance of human
connections in the corporate environment. During the event, children, young
people, and adults engaged in artistic activities led by the project’s educators,
participated in group dynamics, and enjoyed the Parklet Móvel as a space for
        socializing and creativity.
According to Hebert Francisco, Vice President of LiuGong Latin America,
initiatives like this help strengthen the company’s purpose of caring for people
and the communities in which it operates:
“For us, building machines is just as important as building relationships. Being
close to the community and creating meaningful experiences for our employees
and their families reinforces what we believe: strong companies are built by
engaged people who feel connected to and proud of where they work. The
Parklet Móvel symbolizes exactly that — a space of connection, culture, and
        belonging.”

        Parklet Móvel
Developed by Soul Urbanismo, the Parklet Móvel functions as a sustainable
itinerant plaza, equipped with benches, self-irrigating planters with rainwater
harvesting, power outlets, LED lighting powered by solar energy, and air pumps
for bicycles. Its air-suspension system adjusts the trailer to sidewalk level,
ensuring accessibility and safety for all visitors.
During its stay at Parque Portugal, the project welcomed diverse audiences —
children, young people, seniors, families, and cyclists — establishing itself as a
hub of interaction and culture in Taquaral.
By sponsoring initiatives such as the Parklet Móvel, LiuGong reinforces its
commitment to the democratization of culture, to community development, and
to offering experiences that promote learning, exchange, and citizenship.
The Parklet Móvel is carried out by Soul Urbanismo and the City of Campinas,
with sponsorship from LiuGong through the Federal Law for Cultural Incentives
        (Lei Rouanet).

LiuGong Technical Skills Championship takes the Latin American team tothe global podium in Thailand

A competition that highlighted the technical level of the Latin American
representatives and reaffirmed LiuGong’s investment in training and valuing
        professionals.

LiuGong Latin America secured third place at the 8th Global Technical Skills
Competition, held in October 2025 in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The Latin American
team was composed of Marcelo de Andrade, Service Specialist at LiuGong
Brazil; Rodrigo Barbosa de Souza, Service Field Technician at the distributor
Sarandi Tratores; and Emanuel Romero Rosario, Service Field Technician at
        Caon Group (Argentina).
The competition brought together teams from different regions of the world,
including Russia, Poland, Indonesia, India, China, Thailand, Egypt, Saudi
Arabia, and South Africa. The Latin American team secured a place on the
podium, finishing behind the teams from Russia (1st place) and Poland (2nd
        place).
        Global Challenges and Technical Learning
The journey of the Latin American representatives began in the regional
qualifiers organized by LiuGong Latin America, which brought together
technicians from distributors and factory employees. The theoretical and
practical tests evaluated everything from mastery of the machines’ electrical
and hydraulic systems to the disassembly and assembly of subassemblies, predelivery inspections (PDI), failure diagnostics, and equipment technical
        handover procedures.
During the global championship in Thailand, the competitors faced challenges
with a maximum time limit of 60 minutes, requiring precision and agility. The
tasks included disassembly of hydraulic controls, adjustment of diesel injection
systems, and electrical fault diagnostics on excavators, wheel loaders, and
        aerial work platforms.
“The challenges were complex and the time limits extremely short. Each test
required quick thinking, precise measurements, and teamwork. Even without
taking first place, we are proud to have represented Latin America among the
top three teams in the world,” said Marcelo de Andrade, electric machinery
        specialist at LiuGong Latin America.

The event was held at LiuGong’s branch in Ayutthaya, about 70 km from
Bangkok, and featured a full structure provided by LiuGong Global, including
transportation, meals, and technical support for the participants. After the
competition, the contestants took part in the LiuGong Thailand Customer Day,
which showcased machine launches, global performance indicators, and
        cultural attractions.
For Hebert Francisco, Vice President of LiuGong Brazil, the result in Thailand
reflects the company’s ongoing investment in the technical training of its
network professionals. “We believe that knowledge is the main tool for providing
excellent support to our customers. The Technical Skills Championship is a
celebration of competence, the exchange of experiences, and the commitment
of everyone who is part of our brand,” the executive emphasized.

LiuGong Celebrates Successful Debut at Exposibram 2025 and Strengthens Expansion in the Mining Sector

The event brought together and reinforced the importance of innovation and sustainability in Brazilian mining.

Campinas (SP), November 2025 – LiuGong successfully concluded its first participation at Exposibram, one of the largest mining events in Latin America, held from October 28 to 30 at the Salvador Convention Center (BA). The international business fair featured more than 400 booths, 2,600 congress participants, and 3,500 hours of technical and scientific activities, attracting professionals, business leaders, and 4,000 students and young people who took part in training activities and guided tours.

At booth AE12b, LiuGong presented the launch of the 870HE electric wheel loader, a highlight among the equipment showcased at the event. The model, equipped with a 423 kWh LFP battery, an operating weight of 24.2 tons, and a 4.7 m³ bucket, drew the attention of mining companies, service providers, and visitors interested in zero-emission solutions and high energy efficiency.

According to Mateus Rodrigues, Head of Mining and Key Accounts at LiuGong, the company’s debut exceeded expectations. He highlighted the high volume of visitors and the strong interest in electric solutions. “The audience impressed our entire team. We welcomed representatives from mining companies and service providers, all showing great interest in our products, especially the 870HE, which is already operating in São Paulo and will soon begin a demonstration tour in other regions of the country. We achieved our goal of increasing brand recognition and opening new business opportunities, bringing LiuGong even closer to this market, which is extremely important for our business,” says Mateus..

LiuGong Latin America Vice President, Hebert Francisco, says that the company’s debut at Exposibram reflects a moment of brand consolidation in Brazil and the strengthening of its presence in the mining sector. “Participating in Exposibram was an important step in bringing LiuGong even closer to the major players in the industry. The event reinforced the power of innovation and the ongoing dialogue about sustainability in Brazilian mining, topics that are at the core of our global strategy. The public’s response to the 870HE shows that we are on the right path, delivering robust, efficient machines with a lower environmental impact,” he states.

Hebert adds that throughout 2025, LiuGong has been expanding its presence in the segment with new equipment launched earlier in the year, such as the 886T wheel loader and the DW105A off-highway truck, as well as the opening of the mining office in Belo Horizonte (MG), which strengthens the technical and commercial support dedicated to the sector. “We are building a solid foundation for growth, combining technological innovation, excellent after-sales service, and close relationships with our customers,” he concludes.

Reinforcing the brand’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, the materials used in assembling LiuGong’s booth at Exposibram will be repurposed to build dog houses, which will be donated to organizations in the Salvador region. The initiative is part of the company’s ESG efforts to expand the positive impact of its operations.
