Merger between Romac and MPM Marks a New Expansion Scenario for LiuGong

The manufacturer strengthens its presence in Brazil by expanding its portfolio and after-sales support across 95% of the country.

LiuGong distributors, Romac and MPM, announce the merger of their operations in southern Brazil. The areas previously served by Romac, covering part of Paraná and all of Santa Catarina, will now be served by MPM, which will take over the distribution and after-sales services for the manufacturer, continuing the growth project of both companies in partnership with the brand.

Founded in 2005, MPM Tratores brings almost two decades of experience in the heavy machinery, parts, and services market, operating primarily in Rio Grande do Sul. In 2023, the company expanded into western Santa Catarina with the opening of a branch in Chapecó, reinforcing its commitment to providing fast and reliable support to customers across southern Brazil.

To strengthen this new phase, MPM incorporates Romac’s structure and enhances its team with the experience of professionals like Patrick Motta and Robson Motta. Patrick built a 23-year career in strategic sales and market development, leading commercial teams and driving significant results for various global brands in the construction segment. Robson Motta, in turn, has 16 years of experience leading MPM Tratores, where he has stood out for his strategic management and product development.

MPM’s founder, Hercilio Motta Neto, who is recognized for his 40 years of experience and leadership in the sector, comments on the merger: “Romac is a strong brand in the region, and the merger of our businesses is a path for our growth, based on quality products and customer relationships.”

According to LiuGong’s Senior Product and Marketing Manager, Diego Zolezi, the merger represents an opportunity to combine MPM’s operational expertise with Romac’s successful track record, bringing benefits to customers, partners, and employees. The two organizations will now share infrastructure, parts inventory, and fleet, ensuring high-quality service in the Paraná and Santa Catarina markets.

Zolezi adds that the distributors’ merger coincides with a new strategic movement for LiuGong in Brazil. “We are expanding our product line in the country and entering new markets. We believe the strengthening of distributor operations comes at a great time for the brand’s growth,” concludes the Senior Manager, noting that 95% of Brazil’s territory is supported by LiuGong’s distributor network.
