Competition in Mogi Guaçu will determine representatives for Latin America.
On September 18 and 19, 2024, LiuGong will host the Technical Skills Championship in the city of Mogi Guaçu (SP). This event, which has become a tradition on the company’s calendar, aims to select the team that will represent LGLA in the global competition taking place in November 2024 in China.
The Brazilian selection will feature specialists from LiuGong distributors and customers, who will face a series of practical and theoretical challenges. A total of 18 technicians from distributors and 7 technicians from customers will compete in Mogi Guaçu, showcasing their skills in handling and maintaining various LiuGong equipment.
Competition Dynamics
The championship will be divided into two main phases: a theoretical test and a practical test. In the practical portion, participants will face challenges that involve troubleshooting machinery, technical delivery, and equipment pre-inspection, simulating real-life work scenarios. Participants will have defined times for each task, with three hours allocated for the more complex challenges and one hour for the simpler ones. Practical tests will be conducted on equipment such as graders, trucks, wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, bulldozers, skid steer loaders, mini hydraulic excavators, and backhoe loaders.
Diego Zolezi, LiuGong’s Senior Product and Marketing Manager, notes that this initiative is rooted in the value placed on knowledge, which is the main tool for customer service in the company’s culture. “By promoting this competition, LiuGong aims to recognize technical professionals and foster experience-sharing among them. It’s an opportunity to break the routine and interact with colleagues from other distributors and customers to learn together,” Zolezi states.
The top three technicians from the Mogi Guaçu selection will form the team representing LGLA in the Global Technical Skills Championship, which will be held in China in November 2024. The team will consist of one distributor technician, one customer technician, and one internal employee from LiuGong Latin America.
Additionally, the top five competitors from the Latin America competition will receive awards, highlighting recognition for the high technical level of the participants. In China, the competition will involve participants from various LiuGong subsidiaries around the world, with the top three teams receiving cash prizes and trophies. In the 2023 edition, two teams from LiuGong Latin America secured first and second places in the competition.
